OHIOANS FOR THE FAIRTAX

Ohioans for the FairTax is a Volunteer Team of the Americans for Fair Taxation. As concerned citizens of Ohio, it is our express mission to educate our fellow Ohioans about the merit of changing the federal tax system from direct taxation of income to indirect taxation through a national consumption tax as outlined in the HR 25, The FairTax Act of 2007.

Please download the FairTax petition and get all your friends, neighbors, family, and anyone else you meet signed up to support the FairTax. Here are some great tips on starting a petition drive. The most important thing we can do now is to increase our numbers, not only in Ohio but nationally, and adding names to the list of FairTax supporters will get the attention of Congress.

Here is a list of online petitions, please add your names to these to spread the word to other internet sites:

Now that the Democrats are the majority party in Congress, their support of the FairTax is more important than before. Take a look at this 2004 letter to President Bush outlining the Democrat principles for tax reform and simplification, and see how well they mesh with the FairTax!

Here's an excellent explanation of why the prebate is NOT a handout.

We had a successful appearance at the Memorial Day Parade in Springfield. Check out the pictures.

We had a terrific turnout for the Tax Day Rally on April 17, 2007 at the downtown Dayton Post Office. Check out the pictures and the news report on Dayton Channel 2.

GET INVOLVED

Write to President Bush and Each of Your Congressional Representatives

A simple letter, email or fax expressing your desire to see the FairTax enacted is a powerful tool. Only consistent grassroots enthusiasm and pressure will ensure that congress addresses the FairTax. Congressmen rarely hear from large numbers of constituents on any one issue - and if there is one thing that Congressmen listen to, it's when their constituents speak in large numbers! We must be enthusiastic and consistent in contacting our representatives about the FairTax. Your letters, emails and phone calls will make a difference. Tell your elected leaders that the FairTax is an idea whose time has come.
